Ive worked to get more active under the dome (GA Capitol Building) this past year. I was so lucky to have amazing people who have armed me with the knowledge to get around our government building. So before all this hospital mess I had wanted to paint the chambers (where the house and senate meet, two separate areas) as an observer. This is a good time to tell you if you don’t know, you can go listen and learn and just hang out in the gallery during most session hours! YOU SHOULD TRY IT! It’s interesting and weird and it’s good to show yourself and others that you belong there as much as our reps.
Now, unfortunately there’s only a few days left in session for 2025. (Wild right?) However! I got out there yesterday and sat up in the gallery to sketch this out and get it started! I need more time and alas, I think I’ll be working from pictures mostly.
Why do I care? It’s being remodeled after this legislative session. No further details on that have been shared with me. I just think shared community grief should be felt out-loud.
