Last night I had a great time exploring Olympia’s Friday night life. I went to a bar I found via a Facebook event. I will absolutely be going back. Not only did this feel like a very welcoming and friendly space, but even my social awkwardness didn’t deter anyone from making small talk, enjoying the atmosphere and sharing conversations with me.
They had a comedy show going on, which was the reason I went. It did not disappoint! It was a slam-improve/pun stand up show. If that sounds interesting that’s cause it was. I genuinely had so much fun watching people compete, listening to the meanderings of the current comic and getting to meet some really kind people. And my Shirley temple?? Excellent. Monz sticks??? Pretty good.
All in all, I can’t wait to go back with those folks and more so I can find my little groups of peeps.
It’s funny how sometimes you don’t see yourself the way others do. Like they view your character or wants sometimes clearer than you do? (Sometimes they absolutely do not and that’s a good lesson too). But what a blessing it is for life to come into clarity and feel like you’re where you’re meant to be. That’s what this all feels like to me.
P.s to the dude who touched my butt on the bus last night: jokes on you my phone and wallet were in that pocket.
